Who We Help

The RRVEC works with rapid-growth potential entrepreneurial businesses that are currently or will be engaged in generating revenue. We help entrepreneurs located throughout four counties in Northern Illinois: Boone, Ogle, Stephenson & Winnebago. Our primary services are geared to businesses in the early-growth stage, though we also work with select start-ups and more established businesses with aggressive new growth strategies.

What services does the RRVEC offer?

The Rock River Valley Entrepreneurship Center provides enhanced technical and business assistance to entrepreneurs and small businesses through the following services.

Assess client business plans

Conducting an in-depth assessment of clients’ business plans to identify gaps and deficiencies and helping them develop specific corrective action plans.

Link high growth potential clients with specialized service providers

Enhancing the regional entrepreneurial climate by identifying existing entrepreneur and small business resource providers, evaluating current service needs and addressing service gaps.
Bring together a wealth of resources and contacts that can support entrepreneurs, including specialized service providers, business leaders, community resources, universities and financial leaders.

Provide funding for professional services

Administering the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Challenge Grant award program to assist start-up, small, and medium-sized businesses demonstrating the potential to become high-growth, sustainable businesses.

Assist and coach qualified business clients

Screening, mentoring, coaching and supporting entrepreneurs to prepare them for effective presentations for investment dollars.
